i asketh your opinion, internets / my friends.
i was thinking about getting the cheap bus up to randomly see carl tonight as he's not coming down until sunday (with shelves & shit) i've sort of always wanted to just turn up on a special person's doorstep as a surprise, and i think this might be my last chance since you know, he's moving in for reals. and i like the idea, but then all the practical stuff kicks in, like, there's nothing to do there (the dvd player and stereo are down at the flat already, oh mixtape joy! i've already almost finished one, but sadly there's a song (or two) that i want that i don't have but carl does...) and there's probably a big mess of packing and moving in carls room that makes him super anxious and me being there makes it a bit worse and its not like there can be a sexy surprise (if you know what i mean) because the bed is squeaky and the floor boards are squeaky and we're self conscious and the house is full of people and meh. so it's probably better if i just get the flat ready for him.

what do you think? i've ruined a lovely idea by thinking about it, but it all makes sense and is probably true. fuckwit.

in other news, i got recycling bags yesterday as i got a note the other day from the council telling me when and where and how to recycle. i've lived there for almost a year, and thats first i've heard of recycling in my hood. its supposed to be at my houses corner every other wednesday morning, but i've never ever seen any when i go to work. but then again, maybe they pick it up before ten to nine.. or maybe my neighbours don't recycle. well, i will! i think i'll actually take some empty bottles to recycling, the underneath of the little corner 'worktop' in the kitchen is littered with empty wine and cider bottles. i haven't done it for a couple of months..

and, i need to buy new shoes. i'm going right now. primark here i cometh.

Forget practicality and go for it! It would be such a lovely surprise. When I was involved in a long-distance relationship a couple years ago, I showed up one night as a surprise, and it was great. We actually almost didn't recognize each other because we had both had haircuts, and I was wearing new clothes. But the whole thing was really nerve-wracking and exciting and wonderful.
